Lindfield Primary School's PTA
 Registered Charity no.1008998

The Association makes an invaluable contribution to the School organising events for the pupils and parents/carers whilst raising funds to improve resources for our children.

The focus for 2009-10 has been on completing the library project and purchasing laptop computers to support literacy and keyboard skills in the key stage 2 classrooms. Parents and our School Council will be consulted for ideas for other possible future projects over the comimg year or two.

During 2008-09 most of the PTA funding went towards improving the school library making it more user friendly for our children.

In 2007-08 monies were raised to install high quality blinds in each classroom to ensure our children benefited from the maximum use of inter-active whiteboards. The next project is focussed on improving the library area and the purchasing of sports kit for our teams.

During 2006-07 over £18,000 was raised which help buy a range of quality reading books for all classrooms and install new computers in our ICT suite. We now have a completely updated ICT suite.

In 2005/2006 the fantastic sum of £22,256 was raised, this enabled us to pay for a wooden trim trail for the KS2 playing field. This was a facility chosen by our School Council who worked with 'Hand Made Places' in the design process.

The project achieved in 2004/2005 was the building of an additional outdoor learning area for Early Years and Year 1 classes. This was completed during the spring term 2006 and has significantly improved the quality of outdoor learning opportunities for our youngest children.

2003/2004 focused on creating a full staging/lighting/sound system for the William Allen Hall. This project was completed in time for the year 6 production of “Jungle Book” in July 2004. The whole school is now enjoying the new facilities. Many thanks to everyone who helped contribute to the £18,000 we required.

During 2002/2003 the grand sum of £17,000 was raised, £10,000 of which went towards building an all weather sports facility on the KS2 playing field, which was completed in May 2003. This project took place in partnership with Blackthorns Primary School PTA. The remainder of the money was spent enhancing children’s learning around the school.
