Lindfield Primary School

During the year 2000 this particular page traced the development of our new primary school from foundations (as separate infant and junior schools) to reality. The photographs remain as a historical record of this achievement which happened because of the hard work of many individuals including parents, staff, governors and local community representatives. We would like to thank everyone who has made a contribution to the formation of Lindfield Primary School. Without your commitment, the project would never have happened. On Friday 6th October 2000, Lindfield Primary School was officially opened by Mrs. Margaret Johnson, Vice-Chair of West Sussex County Council. Mrs. Lynda Hunter, Headteacher, made a welcoming speech to all our guests, many of whom represented a range of local community and county organisations. It was wonderful also to see many ex-governors, staff and friends who had made significant contributions to both Lindfield Schools over the years. This point was emphasised in Mr Martin Delbridge's speech. Some wonderful entertainment was provided by children from Years 2, 3, 4 and 6. The whole ceremony was concluded by a cutting of the ribbon by Margaret Johnson and a Mexican wave by all the children who had joined hands right around the outside of the school building. It was a fitting climax to a great afternoon! Many thanks to all our guests for joining us on this historical day and to all staff and children for the hard work they had put in to make this day so special!
